There is so much to see and do at Kew Gardens, whether it is escaping to the Plant House to be transported to the rainforest or braving the heights of the treetop walks – we all boarded the Oomph bus with excitement when we headed to the Royal Botantic Gardens.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the last of the summer sunshine, and enjoy all that Kew had to offer. With the beautiful array of flowers and trees, the buzzing of the bees and the colours of the butterflies, it was a wonderful place to be enjoying together.

The Hive, a complete sensory experience stands 17 metres tall and it is hard to miss when you visit Kew. It gives visitors an amazing opportunity to experience the extraordinary life of bees. Standing in the centre of the amazing structure, the lights and sounds are all triggered by bee activity in a real beehive at Kew. The quiet hum of the hive makes you feel completely immersed, and when our residents were inside, it was clear from their faces they all enjoyed it.

We finished a busy day with a well-deserved cup of tea and a slice of cake, all talking about our wonderful day and all that we had seen.
