Role: Head of Activities

Location: Heathlands Care Home, 2A Hatch Lane, Chingford, London E4 6NF

Salary: £14.75 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

As our Head of Activities, you’ll do so much more than plan events, you’ll create moments that matter. From themed parties and music afternoons to gentle exercise, reminiscence sessions and community outings, you’ll design a varied 7-day activities programme that supports the wellbeing, independence and individuality of every resident.

You’ll be the spark that keeps our home buzzing with positivity, laughter, and purpose.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll lead the Activities Team and take responsibility for planning, promoting, and delivering a calendar of engaging activities for all tastes and abilities. You’ll work closely with residents and their families to personalise the programme and support everyone to get involved in their own way.

Big birthday coming up? You’re already on it. Local school visiting? You’ve got the teas ready. Elvis tribute night? You’re front row, dancing with the residents. Whether it’s a quiet one-to-one or a full-house celebration, you’ll make every day special. You’ll also build strong links with the local community, involve volunteers, manage your budget, and ensure compliance with relevant policies, all while keeping the fun alive.

What you’ll bring:

• Previous experience planning and delivering activities in a care or community setting.
• A flair for organising large events and managing a full 7-day planner.
• A creative mind and a hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• A confident, outgoing personality, you’re someone who loves to have fun and helps others do the same.
• A genuine passion for enriching lives through connection, movement, and joy.
